These may come out every day for the rest of the year, but another story today from the Charleston Daily Mail, on just how far a deadbeat billionaire like Jim Justice will go to jam small businesses and landowners. That new $2 million suit in Beckley this week is just the tip of the iceberg.
In another unsurprising twist, the Associated Press today reports that two more Jim Justice-run companies have been sued for $2 Million dollars in Beckley.....for mining coal and not paying the landowners for it, as contracted.
More in today's Huntington Herald-Dispatch.
Hardly a day goes by that some small business that has done business with one of billionaire Jim Justice's companies makes an allegation or files a lawsuit alleging that he hasn't paid his bills.
After his announcement last week that he planned to run for Governor as a Democrat, Jim Justice jetted around the state to visit towns like Wheeling, Martinsburg and Clarksburg. Trouble is, he really wouldn't answer any questions about issues at all, from press or citizens. Justice refused to answer any question about pro-life issues, the Second Amendment, global warming or most anything else. Mostly, he told folks his consultants would tell him what to think in the future.
Ken Ward and the Charleston Gazette took issue with his empty suit and remind folks just how stressed and conflicted Justice's past behavior is with Democrat Party positions and his behavior as a businessman whose businesses have trouble paying fines and taxes in several states.
Several media outlets are reporting that billionaire Jim Justice will make an announcement regarding his political future on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the White Sulphur Springs Civic Center.
Former Congressman George Miller was right about one thing; Jim Justice has proven he is Exhibit A of what’s wrong with politics today. A few questions Jim Justice will need to answer before he can ask voters to trust him to fight for them as Governor:
